About Dr. Jillian Horkan D.D.S.

Education & Experience

  • Creighton University School of Dentistry, 2014

  • Postdoctoral residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in Grand Junction

  • Worked in a private group practice in Montrose for 8 years prior to founding MDW

  • Studied and completed advanced training in evidence based dental care and wellness at the Kois Center in Seattle

  • Works as state delegate and trustee for the Colorado Dental Association and sits on the board for western Colorado Dental Society.

In 2023, Dr. Horkan brought her knowledge and passion for advanced dentistry back to Montrose to found Montrose Dental Wellness. At Montrose Dental Wellness, Dr. Horkan and her team operate under the philosophy that a healthy mouth is a gateway to a healthy body. They specialize in advanced preventive procedures, innovative care, and next-gen dental technology that nurture dental wellness so patients can avoid chronic diseases and live long, happy, adventurous lives.

Dr. Horkan is actively involved in the Colorado Dental Association, where she has served as a state delegate since 2020, and the Western Slope Dental Society, where she serves as a board member, trustee and current president. Dr. Horkan is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Western Colorado Dental Society , Wellness Dentistry Network, and Kois Center Alumni. She continues to hold multiple seats with state associations to work with legislators to help rural Coloradans access the dental care they deserve.

When Dr. Horkan isn’t supporting Montrose and surrounding residents with their dental needs, she enjoys hiking, camping, dirt biking, snowmobiling, skiing, hunting, and traveling with her husband and two energetic Siberian Huskies.
